Board of Supervisors Minutes
August 25, 2009
The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m., August 25, 2009.
Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor,
Kendall Jordan; and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Wilkens.
Motion by Wilkens, seconded by Jordan to approve the minutes of the
August 18th, 2009, regular meeting. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board met with Connie Haughey from the County Attorney's office to
discuss replacing some flooring in the office due to some previous water
damage. It was decided to replace the carpet.
At 10:00, the Board held the Second Reading of the Amendment to the Tama
County Flood Plain Management Ordinance VI.4. The amendment offers a
technical change the effective date of the flood plain maps to November
18, 2009, after FEMA issued the final flood maps for Tama County. The
Board and the EMA/911 Director have received no public comment on the
proposed amendment.
Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens approve the Second Reading of an
amendment to Ordinance No. VI.4 to change the effective date of the
flood plain maps to November 18, 2009, and set the Third Reading at
10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 1st, during the Supervisors' regular
meeting to consider amending the effective date of the flood plain maps
to November 18, 2009, referred to in SECTION III - Establishment of
Flood Plain (Overlay) District in said Ordinance. Roll Call Vote:
Vest, aye. Jordan, aye. Wilkens, aye. Motion Carried.
Bob Etzel, Tama County Conservation Director, was present to go over the
annual report for the Conservation Department.
Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve the claims for payment
as presented. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 10:55 a.m.
