Board of Supervisors Minutes

June 9, 2009

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m., June 9, 2009.
Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor,
Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Wilkens.

Motion by Wilkens, seconded by Jordan to approve the minutes of the June
2nd, 2009, regular meeting. All voted aye. Motion carried.

The Board met with Judy Funk to discuss the Heartland Insurance Risk
Pool Insurance renewal. Motion by Wilkens, seconded by Jordan to renew
the insurance with the Heartland Insurance Risk Pool. All voted aye.
Motion carried.

The Board discussed the need for a county vehicle use policy. There was
input from some of the county departments. No action taken.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve property tax
suspensions on properties owned by the following people:

Judy Powers Tama Parcel 550-1078000

Llana Bennett Montour Parcel 730-0072000

Penny Mathes Tama Parcel 550-1315000

These have been verified by the Department of Human Resources as being
eligible for the suspension. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to set the drainage district
levies at 0 % for the 2009-2010 taxes. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve a fireworks permit for
J & M Displays for June 25, 2009 at the Gladbrook Corn Carnival. All
voted aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Wilkens, seconded by Jordan to re-appoint Jim Little, Toledo
to the Tama County Community Foundation. This will be for a three year
term from 1-1-2010 though 12-31-2012. All vote aye. Motion carried.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve the claims for payment
as presented. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 11:52 a.m.
