Board of Supervisors Minutes

November 17, 2009

The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m., November 17,
2009. Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District
Supervisor; Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Wilkens.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve the minutes of the
November 10th, 2009, regular meeting. All voted aye. Motion carried.

The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer to get a road
projects report.

The Board met with Todd Rickert and Tammy Wise, Tama County CPC office,
to discuss the phone system in their office. They have had problems with
it since they got it 3 years ago. It has been struck by lightning in
the past. It needs to be replaced and they would like to go to a
different company. The cost will come out of their budget.

The Board met with Mike Wentzien, Region 6 Planning Commission. He
presented a home in Gladbrook that is eligible for the home ownership
program. Motion by Wilkens, seconded by Jordan to approve the
following resolution for the home ownership assistance program:

RESOLUTION NO. 11-17-2009A

RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE TAMA COUNTY HOME OWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
CONTRACT FOR 504 JOHNSTON STREET, GLADBROOK, IOWA.

Whereas, the County of Tama was approved for a $294,876
Home Funds through the Iowa Department of Economic Development for home
ownership assistance and rehabilitation of existing homes being
purchased countywide, and

Whereas, the homeowner at 504 Johnston, Gladbrook, Iowa, is
eligible for the assistance under the County of Tama's Administration
Plan, and

Whereas, Region 6 Planning Commission opened sealed bids for
the rehabilitation of 504 Johnston, Gladbrook, Iowa, and have verified
that all work will be done in accordance with program requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY OF TAMA, IOWA:

Section 1: That the attached rehabilitation contract
between homeowner located at 504 Johnston, Gladbrook, Iowa, Troy
Construction, Toledo, Iowa, and the County of Tama is hereby approved.
All direct rehabilitation and administration costs will be paid for by
non-County resources (i.e. grants and City administration fees).

Section 2: All work paid for by the County of Tama's HOME
funds will be secured through a recorded mortgage.

Section 3: County approval will be subject to an appraisal
showing after-rehabilitation value not exceeding 95% of the area median
purchase price.

Roll Call Vote: Vest, aye. Jordan, aye. Wilkens, aye. Resolution
passed and adopted this 10th day of November 2009. Larry Vest,
Chairman, Board of Supervisors. Laura Kopsa, County Auditor.

Motion by Jordan, seconded by Wilkens to approve the claims for payment
as presented. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Chairman Vest adjourned the meeting at 10:36 a.m.
