Board of Supervisors Minutes
October 21, 2019
The Tama County Board of Supervisors met at 9:30 a.m. October 21, 2019. Present: 1st District Supervisor, Larry Vest; 2nd District Supervisor, Kendall Jordan and 3rd District Supervisor, Dan Anderson.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Vest to approve the minutes of the October 14th regular meeting. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board met with Lyle Brehm, Tama County Engineer, to get a road projects report.
The Board opened bids for a county pick up that the county has for sale. There was one bid received. The bid is as follows: $2,500 submitted by Daneen Henle, Toledo. Motion by Vest, seconded by Anderson to accept the bid from Daneen Henle, Toledo, for a 2004 Chevrolet pick-up in the amount of $2,500. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board received a request from Don Stansbery, Traer Historical Museum. They have received a $26,000 CAT Grant for their Traer Historical Museum History NOW project, which will be used for new windows, displays, lighting, etc., and would like to have the support of the Supervisors for this with the Enhance Iowa Grant (previously called the Vision Iowa Grant). The county offers a 10% match up to $10,000. The grant paperwork looks in order. Motion by Vest, seconded by Anderson to approve the request for the Enhance Iowa Grant for the Traer Historical Museum Project in the amount of $2,600. All voted aye. Motion carried.
The Board met with representatives from Liberty National Insurance. No action taken.
Motion by Anderson, seconded by Vest to approve the claims for payment as presented. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Chairman Jordan adjourned the meeting at 10:15 a.m.
