ALCOHOL PROHIBITED FOR USERS OF THE TAMA COUNTY NATURE CENTER
WHEREAS, the Tama County Nature Center, located in Section 31, Carroll Township, Tama County. IA, is a facility constructed to primarily serve as a host site for activities and programs facilitating environmental /conservation education, concerning and promoting the environment and conservation of the natural resources, and as the main office for the Tama County Conservation Board, and
WHEREAS, the Tama County Nature Center has been constructed using only sources of revenues such as grants, fundraisers, donations and REAP funds and NO property tax revenues to accomplish the primary purpose of the facility as stated above, and
WHEREAS, the Tama County Conservation Board desires to allow some secondary use of the Nature Center but only under the terms and restrictions felt necessary by the Tama County Conservation Board to protect the facility, its components, and remain true to the desired positive image and mission of the Nature Center, and
WHEREAS, the Tama County Conservation Board, acting as managers of the Tama County Nature Center via powers and duties ascribed to them in Chapter 350.4, Code of Iowa (formerly Chapter 11lA.4, Code of Iowa) and desiring to include as part of the “Policy and Procedures” estab1ished for use of the Nature Center, the prohibition of the use, possession or consumption of alcoholic liquors, including beer and wine, as defined in Chapter 123, Code of Iowa, at said facility and the area immediately surrounding the Nature Center.
BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE BE ENACTED:
It shall be unlawful to use, possess, or consume alcoholic liquors, including beer or wine (as defined in Chapter 123, Code of Iowa) inside the Tama County Nature Center, located in Section 31, Carroll Township (T84N, R14W), Tama County, Iowa, and the grounds surrounding the Nature Center within 300 feet of said structure. (The distance of 300 feet being measured from the nearest corner or side of the structure to the place in question).
