MH/DD – Targeted Case Management Advisory Board
Meeting
May 22, 2008
Tama County MH/DD Advisory
meeting was held at the Tama County CPC Building Toledo, Iowa on May 22, 2008
at 7:00pm.
PRESENT WERE: Jim Dinsdale, Gary Mattson,
Tammy Weiss, Dann Larmore, Ron Busch, Keith Sash, Kim Carter, Larry Vest, Todd
Rickert and Tammy Wise.
CALL TO ORDER:
President
Gary Mattson called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm
MINUTES: January 24, 2008 approved – no changes
Agenda
Items(s):
Elections: Keith Sash made a motion and Larry Vest seconded the motion to
accept Ron Busch and Dann Larmore for an additional 2yr term. Arlene was absent at this time.
Goal
Updates: Discussion was held about
contacting local organizations in order to meet and let their members know who
we are. Todd has a 15-20 minute speech
that he would like to give. This will
give access information and funding sources.
This will help with referrals.
Tammy will try to locate information from the Chamber and Tama County
Economic Development.
HIPAA
Training: Kim and Tammy were given
HIPAA training documentation and discussion was held as to what is allowed with
authorization to be released. The MH/DD
Board must also follow the HIPAA rules. (Mary, Pat, Craig and Bonnie will be
done at next meeting)
Regional
Service Network: Discussion was held on the Regional Service Network concept. The Tama County Board of Supervisors have
approved of Tama County CPC exploring
the possibility being included in the Regionalized Service Network. There are currently ten(10) counties which
includes Grundy, Chickasaw, Black Hawk, Wright, Butler, Floyd, Mitchell, Cerro
Gordo and Franklin that make up the network.
The concept of the network is to have local control of funding for
services verses state. State funding
would be allocated to a region based on the current formula. There would be one Management Plan for the
entire Region. The Tama County Board of
Supervisors will have final decision as to weather Tama County will
participate. This will be a 2 year
trial period. There were a lot of
concerns as to being with a region when individually the CPC offices do such a
good job.
TCM IME
Audits: As of date all
client files audited are in complete compliance.
Referrals: At this time we have approximately 2-5 new referrals.
Review PIP: Goal #1- Tama
Case Management would like to ensure that qualities of Case Management services
are being provided by the agency and client files are current and have required
documentation in them.
Todd and Tammy did onsite visit with North Star to
make sure goals are being addressed. North Star does an excellent job. Capstone and Progress Industries are the
next sites we are planning on visiting.
This is an ongoing goal.
Update on
Rules: There are changes coming in
the near future. We are tracking in 15
minute increments at this time and expect this will be in the new rules.
NON AGENDA ITEMS:
Case
Management Review: Linda Kemp’s review of case
management files indicated that we are in compliance. She had many compliments
of our unit.
