What does Tama County Safety do?

The Safety Director works with the departments within Tama County to assess workplace hazards, establish and implement supervisor and employee training, establish written policies, and comply with OSHA standards.

A

Tama County Safety does not inspect or regulate businesses or private residences.

Who should I report safety concerns to?

A

Safety concerns involving county property or employees should be directed to the Safety director. The Safety Director can be reached at 641-484-4191 ext. 5 for all non-emergency situations. Emergency situations should be reported by calling 911.

Who can I contact for safety concerns that do not involve Tama County but are within the county?

A

Iowa OSHA can be contacted for situations not involving county employees or property. Iowa OSHA has a website located at www.iowaosha.gov or can be called at 515-242-5870.
