Marvel at the matchsticks

Since 1977 Gladbrook artist Patrick Acton has created dozens of wooden sculptures made exclusively of ordinary wooden matchsticks. The artwork is on display at the Matchstick Marvels Museum in downtown Gladbrook. Many models have historical significance, such as the Iowa governor’s mansion, Terrace Hill, and a thirteen-foot scaled model of the USS Iowa battleship along with 14 others on display at Matchstick Marvels. Experience some of the best matchstick art in the world and the story that began it all!
